Colombia hosts regional and national speed skating tournaments

Colombia is hosting several significant speed skating events across different regions. In Bogotá, the 4th National Interclub Festival for the junior category recently took place at the PRD El Salitre. The event featured approximately 400 skaters representing 86 clubs from 18 national leagues. Alberto Herrera Ayala, president of the Colombian Skating Federation, noted that these competitions serve as a training ground for future talent and a precursor to the World Skate Games in Paraguay.

In the Norte de Santander department, the First Three Tracks Tournament is scheduled to take place across Villa del Rosario, Cúcuta, and Salazar de Las Palmas. This competition marks a regional effort to decentralize elite skating by utilizing three different venues. The event will include participants from Norte de Santander, Arauca, Santander, and Venezuela, utilizing improved local infrastructure such as the Teódulo Gélvez Albarracín circuit in Cúcuta.
