Colombia hosts upcoming cycling and trail running competitions

Various sporting events are scheduled to take place in Colombia. In the Antioquia region, the 35th Clásica Nacional de Ciclismo de Marinilla ‘Ramón Emilio Arcila’ will be held from September 1 to September 4. Organized by the Marinilla Mayor's Office, INDERMA, and the Antioquia Cycling League, the competition features Elite, Women, and U-23 categories. The four-day event includes an 18-kilometer individual time trial starting in El Peñol, a 67-kilometer stage from Alejandría, a 155-kilometer long-distance stage through several municipalities including Guatapé and El Peñol, and a final urban circuit in Marinilla.

In the Huila department, the Villamil Trail: La Senda del Anacona is set for September 20 in the rural district of Vegalarga, near Neiva. The mountain running event aims to attract 500 participants, including athletes and families. The competition offers three different routes: the 12-kilometer Barcino course, the 8-kilometer Oropel course, and the 2-kilometer Sanjuanero course designed for children. Organizers intend for the event to promote nature tourism and stimulate local economic development in the rural area.
