Cultural and literary festivals sweep across Latin America and Spain
Various cultural, literary, and musical events are taking place across Latin America and Spain.
In Paraguay, the 22nd Libroferia Encarnación will be held from September 1 to 6 at the Universidad Autónoma de Encarnación. Under the theme “Reading and culture for peace,” the fair features authors, workshops, and performances, expecting 30,000 visitors. Additionally, the CCPA in Asunción is hosting theatrical productions including “Dulce Espera” and “Radojka.”
In Argentina, literary and educational initiatives are prominent. Tinogasta held its first book fair with a student writing contest, while Rawson hosted a provincial education, arts, and science fair. In Mendoza, the second edition of FESTIM, a Latin American festival for immersive theater, is scheduled for September. Ushuaia will host the “Peña Jujeña” to commemorate the 214th anniversary of the Exodus of Jujuy.
In Colombia, Vice President José Manuel Restrepo has called for a national campaign to fund the reconstruction of the Manizales Metropolitan Basilica Cathedral following an earthquake.
In Spain, musical and circus events are scheduled, including the Migrats Circ festival in Valencia and the Mondosonoro party in Santa Colomba de Somoza. Meanwhile, political groups in La Litera have raised concerns regarding fire safety risks for the upcoming Own Spirit festival in Baldellou.
