Colombia hotel occupancy projected at 61.7% for school recess week

The Colombian Hotel and Tourism Association (Cotelco) projects an average national hotel occupancy rate of 61.7% during the upcoming school recess week. While several destinations are expected to see high demand, including Tolima, San Andrés, and the Atlántico department, certain regions face lower expectations.

Norte de Santander and Huila are projected to have the lowest occupancy rates in the country, both falling below 50%. Specifically, Norte de Santander is expected to reach 42.7%, while Huila is projected at 44.6%.

Cotelco is actively encouraging domestic travel to support local economies in regions such as the Coffee Axis, Valle del Cauca, Santa Marta, and Boyacá. Regarding the Coffee Axis, Cotelco representatives emphasized that infrastructure has undergone technical inspections to ensure safety and connectivity for visitors.
