Colombia launches sixth cycle of senior aid program Colombia Mayor
The director of Prosperidad Social, Mauricio Rodríguez Amaya, announced that the sixth cycle of the Colombia Mayor program will run from 29 July to 19 August. The cycle targets 155,433 senior citizens in the Nariño Department and is funded with 36.94 billion Colombian pesos.
As part of a nationwide modernization effort, 4,098 beneficiaries who have successfully registered a bank account or electronic deposit through the Financial Information Manager will receive their payments directly into the chosen financial product. This direct‑payment channel involves an investment of 1.119 billion pesos and aims to provide earlier access to funds, eliminate the need to travel to payment points, and improve security.
Prosperidad Social urged remaining seniors to register their accounts via the online platform to take advantage of the new delivery method.
