Tierra del Fuego and Mexico U-20 football teams advance preparations

The Tierra del Fuego men’s football pre-selection is preparing for the Binational Araucanía Games, scheduled for October 25–30 in the Los Ríos Region of Chile. Under technical director Luciano Müller and assistant Simón Romero Vázquez, a group of 36 players from Río Grande and Ushuaia is currently training to refine tactical concepts. A final 18-player roster will be announced between October 13 and 14.

In international youth football, the Mexico Under-20 national team, led by coach Alex Diego, has begun a high-level friendly tour in Spain. Following their Concacaf Championship victory, the squad faced Spain in a match in Majadahonda, which Spain won 1-0. The tour continues with scheduled matches against Elche and Brazil to prepare the generation for the 2027 World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Aitor Karanka, a development director for the Spanish Football Federation, noted the importance of these matches and expressed intent to bring the national team to Ceuta in the future.
