Colombia Ministry of Equality liquidator files criminal complaint against Guerrero sisters
John Milton Rodríguez, the liquidator of Colombia's Ministry of Equality, has filed a criminal complaint with the Attorney General's Office against Juliana and Verónica Guerrero. The complaint alleges irregular intervention in the resources of FonIgualdad, the ministry's financial fund.
According to the allegations, the Guerrero sisters reportedly entered the fund's Board of Directors without being members of the ministry. Rodríguez claims they were “giving orders, making decisions, closing sessions, and establishing guidelines” despite having no official standing within the entity.
This legal action follows a previous case involving Juliana Guerrero, who was sentenced to three years in prison after reaching a plea deal regarding procedural fraud related to the alleged falsification of her professional titles. Investigative reports have also suggested the sisters' involvement in a corruption network involving alleged bribes from businessmen seeking government contracts.
