Colombia Ministry of Labor publishes eight draft regulatory decrees
The Colombian Ministry of Labor has published eight draft regulatory decrees for public review, seeking opinions, suggestions, and alternative proposals from citizens.
The Ministry clarified that these decrees are intended to implement existing laws and do not aim to eliminate labor rights or regress worker protections. The government noted that rights remain protected under the Constitution, the Substantive Labor Code, and Law 2466 of 2025.
The initiative follows a review of previous decrees that contained technical errors, such as excessive fines, unauthorized judicial functions assigned to labor inspectors, and provisions previously annulled by the Council of State. The Ministry stated that the new drafts were developed following dialogues with both workers and employers.
