Colombia: Multiple traffic accidents reported in Ibagué and Santa Marta

Several traffic incidents have been reported across different regions of Colombia. In Santa Marta, an interdepartmental bus traveling the Santa Marta-Riohacha route was completely destroyed by fire on the Troncal del Caribe. All passengers and the driver evacuated safely before the flames consumed the vehicle.

In Ibagué, a series of accidents occurred involving various vehicles. A Rápido Tolima bus overturned on the Ibagué bypass near the El Salado roundabout, reportedly on a wet road; three people were transported to medical centers. In another incident on the Fantasma Avenue, a Chevrolet Sail crashed into a pole, resulting in a total loss of the vehicle and injuries to two young men, including driver Camilo Gutiérrez.

Additionally, a motorcyclist without a helmet sustained facial injuries after colliding with a bus in the Modelia neighborhood of Ibagué. A separate accident on the Ibagué bypass involving a private car left the driver injured after the vehicle reportedly bounced several times and ended up on the opposite side of the road.
