Colombia offers 3,000 million COP reward for ACSN leader ‘Pinocho’
Colombian President Abelardo De la Espriella has announced a reward of up to 3,000 million COP for information leading to the capture of Fredy Castillo Carrillo, known as ‘Pinocho’. Castillo Carrillo is identified as a primary leader of the Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra Nevada (ACSN), an organization active in the Magdalena and La Guajira regions.
The President warned that authorities are monitoring potential escape routes toward the Venezuelan border. Recent military operations against the ACSN have resulted in 23 arrests, including 18 in Magdalena and five in La Guajira. Among those detained is an individual known as ‘Yolima’, identified as the partner of ‘Pinocho’. Authorities also seized 29 million pesos in cash and several mobile phones during these operations.
In a broader security report, De la Espriella noted a significant decrease in crime rates compared to the previous year. According to the administration, kidnappings have dropped by 79 percent, extortion by 62 percent, and massacres by 58 percent between August 2025 and August 2026.
