MinTIC officials denounce $7.2 billion peso diversion to 2026 campaign propaganda

Colombian Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (MinTIC) officials have denounced the diversion of approximately $7.255 billion pesos in public funds toward digital propaganda during the 2026 presidential campaign.

According to Minister Alexandra Falla and Inravisión manager Ángela Mora, $6.362 billion pesos from a $10 billion contract with the Ministry of Education were used for digital content and advertising between June and August 2026. The primary contractors identified are Prowess SAS, which received $4.997 billion pesos, and 3D Mobile 3DM SAS, which received $1.364 billion pesos.

Additionally, $892.8 million pesos from a $1.5 billion inter-administrative agreement with the Department of the Presidency (DAPRE) were reportedly used for a digital plan between March and August 2026. These expenditures coincide with the first and second rounds of the presidential elections held in May and June 2026. Inravisión has requested that the Procuraduría General de la Nación and the Contraloría General de la República investigate the contractual and budgetary handling of these resources.
