Colombia opens new road sections in Tuluá and Bogotá to ease traffic

In Tuluá, the municipal administration led by Mayor Gustavo Vélez Román opened the newly constructed Calle 26 between carreras 18 and 20. The 210‑metre stretch includes 150 m of rigid pavement, LED lighting, horizontal signage, a new traffic light, and upgraded water and sewer networks, aiming to cut travel times and reduce congestion for residents and commuters.

In Bogotá, the city’s Integrated Development Unit (IDU) under Director Orlando Molano, following Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán’s directive, inaugurated two parallel lanes alongside the Venice bridge as part of the Av. 68 corridor project. With the work now 97.43 % complete, the temporary lanes provide a more direct route for mixed traffic from Soacha to the NQS avenue, easing local commerce traffic and improving mobility and safety for Bogotanos.
