Colombia oversight agencies monitor land registry and social welfare transitions

The Office of the Attorney General of Colombia has intensified its monitoring of the implementation of the Multipurpose Cadastre. A special preventive surveillance group is reviewing the progress of this public policy to ensure the protection of citizen property rights and to verify compliance with commitments made under the Integral Rural Reform.

The oversight includes examining reports from the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), the National Land Agency (ANT), and the National Planning Department (DNP). Key areas of focus include the incorporation of rural property information, data exchange between land registries and records, and the application of this policy within ethnic community territories.

In Pereira, local authorities confirmed that the Sisbén system will continue to operate normally during the transition to the new Universal Income Registry (RUI). Following a national government decree extending the transition period, the Sisbén IV will remain the active tool for socioeconomic characterization and social program targeting. Local services, including household surveys and decentralized community outreach, will continue as scheduled.
