Colombia: Prosperidad Social announces new Colombia Mayor payment cycle
Prosperidad Social has announced a new payment cycle for the Colombia Mayor program, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The initiative will benefit 2,850,685 elderly citizens across the country, with each beneficiary receiving transfers of up to $230,000 pesos.
The government has allocated $669,581 million pesos for this period. Payments will be processed through SuperGiros and SuRed operators, providing coverage in both urban and rural areas.
Prosperidad Social Director Sandra Suárez Pérez noted that the government submitted a 2026 budget modification project to Congress to secure additional funds. This measure aims to address financial commitments left underfunded by the previous administration and to ensure the continuity of the program for the remainder of the year. The availability of resources for future cycles remains dependent on congressional approval.
