Newly inaugurated Colombian President Abelardo De La Espriella is facing an immediate crisis following a magnitude 7.4 earthquake. De La Espriella, a former criminal defense lawyer with no prior political experience, assumed office for the 2026-2030 term following a ceremony in Cali.
