Colombia pushes forward key road and water infrastructure projects

The Atlántico Department government intensified work on the elevated section of the La Gran Vía corridor linking Barranquilla and Puerto Colombia, with Governor Eduardo Verano pledging its completion and a three‑month plan to import and assemble a specialized platform for the viaduct.

In the same region, the governor’s administration opened a procurement process for a $11 billion (COP) water system upgrade in Luruaco, adding a new pumping station and elevated tank to ensure continuous supply for the municipal center and surrounding corregimientos.

Separately, the National Institute of Roads (Invías) delivered a $22 billion rehabilitation of the Manizales‑Mariquita stretch of the Manizales‑Mariquita corridor, creating 84 local jobs and improving the alternate route to the Bogotá‑Buenaventura corridor, a critical supply line for agricultural producers in Caldas and Tolima.
