Colombia selects national speed skating team for 2026 World Championships

The Colombian National Speed Skating Team has been officially selected to compete in the 2026 World Championships during the World Skate Games in Asunción, Paraguay. The squad was presented in Guarne, Antioquia, following the conclusion of the National Selective Camp.

The delegation consists of 28 skaters representing 17 clubs from six different leagues: Bogotá, Valle del Cauca, Antioquia, Santander, Bolívar, and Quindío. Bogotá holds the highest representation with 13 athletes. The team will be led by coaches Elías del Valle, Iván Vargas, and Juan Carlos Baena.

The roster features a blend of veteran talent and emerging youth, including 16 world champions who collectively hold 80 gold medals. The group also includes a significant number of young athletes, with 10 junior skaters set to compete in their first World Championship.
