Colombia selects skaters Rueda and Carreño as flag bearers

Skaters Gabriela Rueda and Brayan Carreño have been selected as the flag bearers for Colombia at the upcoming South American Games in Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina. The event is scheduled to take place from September 12 to 26.

Gabriela Rueda, a Bogotá native, is a highly decorated athlete with 13 world titles and a gold medal from the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Brayan Carreño, from Cali, is a six-time world champion in artistic skating, most recently winning in the senior solo dance category in Beijing.

Colombia enters the competition following a strong performance at the Asunción 2022 games, where the nation secured 79 gold, 78 silver, and 98 bronze medals. The Colombian skating delegation continues to be a dominant force, building on a history of 22 speed skating world championships.
