Colombia SMEs face July tax crunch, AI tools offered

In July 2026 Colombia's tax authority DIAN concentrates several key deadlines for small and medium enterprises. Between July 9‑24, companies must pay the second installment of corporate income tax, file and remit the bimonthly VAT for May‑June, submit the June withholding tax form (Form 350), and pay the advance for the Simple Tax Regime, with due dates determined by the last digit of each entity's NIT.

The clustering of obligations creates a liquidity strain, especially for businesses with variable cash flows. Missing a deadline can trigger penalties and interest. Experts stress that effective financial planning is essential.

Alegra, a provider of AI‑driven financial management solutions, says its tools can forecast deadlines, automate reconciliations, project cash flow and alert firms to pending tax commitments. "Hoy la inteligencia artificial permite prever vencimientos, automatizar conciliaciones, proyectar el flujo de caja e identificar compromisos pendientes antes de que se conviertan en sanciones," said Dana Becerra, Content Manager at Alegra. The technology aims to help SMEs meet DIAN requirements without incurring sanctions.
