Colombia tourism highlights diverse landscapes and regional gastronomy

Colombia offers diverse tourism opportunities through its varied landscapes and traditional culinary heritage, particularly in the regions of Cundinamarca, Boyacá, and Caldas.

In Cundinamarca, visitors can explore several hiking destinations, including the mist forests of Parque Natural Chicaque, the high mountains of Ecoparque Pionono, and the paramo ecosystems of Matarredonda. Other notable sites include the historic Laguna de Guatavita and the La Chorrera waterfall, which is the highest in the country. The region is also celebrated for its gastronomy, such as the 'piquete campesino con banano' in La Mesa and the traditional 'cuajada con melao' dessert in Guatavita. Additionally, the 'mogolla chicharrona' serves as a popular artisanal bread in the Cundiboyacense region.

In Caldas, the town of Viterbo provides natural attractions such as the 'túnel de los árboles' and Monte La Miquera. The municipality is also a coffee-producing area and is set to host the 2026 Departmental Games, which is expected to boost local commerce and tourism.
