Colombiamoda 2026 highlights Colombian fashion innovation and sustainability

The University of Medellín will debut a runway at Colombiamoda 2026 titled “Futuros UdeMedellín: Rehumanización Expandida.” The show will feature 46 looks organized into three creative narratives – Génesis, Síntesis and Ecosistema – and will integrate live music, student‑designed scenery, biomaterials, biovestments, and collaborations with diverse Colombian communities. Coordinators stress that the collection places humans at the core of design despite advances in artificial intelligence and new technologies.

Fashion curator and designer Paola Betancur advises on pairing Colombian dresses with elegant shoes for the summer 2026 season. She references designers such as Maria Elena Villamil, Ora Ora and Maygel Coronel, highlighting the heritage, artisanal details, vibrant colours and versatile silhouettes that define contemporary Colombian apparel. Her styling tips aim to showcase how Colombian fashion can move beyond trends to become a lasting expression of identity and culture.
