Colombiamoda 2026 launches in Medellín, spotlighting Colombian fashion internationally
Colombiamoda 2026 opened at Plaza Mayor in Medellín, featuring more than 600 brands and expecting over 70,000 visitors, including 17,000 specialized buyers and 4,000 international buyers from 50 countries. The event’s theme, “Uniqueness is the New Luxury,” showcases Colombian design talent on a global stage.
Designer Jorge Duque, in partnership with Arkitect, presented a 1990s‑inspired collection on a mirrored runway during the fashion week. The line includes 84 references and will be sold through 46 Grupo Éxito stores and online via Arkitect.com. The show also marked the runway debut of Michelle Char, queen of the Barranquilla Carnival.
Separately, the multi‑brand retailer MALVA announced the forthcoming Malva Fashion Embassy, a permanent 1,200‑square‑meter space in Madrid’s luxury shopping district (Calle Serrano 12) slated to open in October 2026. The embassy will host a curated selection of Latin American designers, featuring several Colombian brands, to link regional talent with the European market.
