Colombian airlines Wingo and Avianca expand flight services
Colombian airlines are expanding and restoring flight services across the country. Wingo has increased its capacity on the route between Bucaramanga and Santa Marta, adding 7,812 seats since August 19. The airline is increasing its weekly frequencies from two to three, with the possibility of reaching four flights per week during high-demand periods.
In another development, Avianca is resuming flights to Pereira following the certification of technical and safety conditions at Matecaña International Airport. The airline will begin with four daily flights—three from Bogotá and one from Medellín—starting August 26. Avianca intends to gradually increase this capacity to a total of 10 daily flights as airport infrastructure recovers.
