Colombian Army captures two alleged FARC members in Caquetá

The Colombian National Army captured two alleged members of the FARC, specifically from the “Calarcá” faction of the Raúl Reyes group, during a military operation in the Caquetá department. The combat took place in the Villa del Río area within the municipality of Morelia.

During the engagement, troops seized various items of war and communication equipment, including an M16 rifle, an AK-47 rifle, six magazines, 230 cartridges, and four mobile phones. A non-commissioned officer and a soldier were injured during the operation and were evacuated to a medical center for treatment.

The Twelfth Brigade of the Sixth Division stated that this operation is part of a permanent deployment intended to counter illegal armed groups and protect civilian populations in the region.
