The Colombian National Army's Seventh Division destroyed over 130 kilograms of explosives in the Palmichal area of Briceño, located in northern Antioquia. The operation was conducted by the Rapid Deployment Force No. 7 following weeks of intelligence work.
The seized materials, which were destroyed in a controlled manner, included a 60-pound cylinder, two improvised explosive devices, and five 81mm improvised grenades specifically adapted for deployment via drones. Military authorities attributed the explosives to the Frente 36 of the FARC dissidents.
According to preliminary reports, the weaponry was intended for attacks against civilian populations and members of the Public Force. The Briceño region is currently a contested area involving several armed groups, including the FARC dissidents, the ELN, and the Clan del Golfo.
