Colombian Army destroys 20 explosives in Boyacá

The Colombian National Army's First Brigade reported the location and controlled destruction of 20 explosive devices in the rural area of Socotá, Boyacá. According to official information, the explosives are attributed to the Adonay Ardila Pinilla front of the ELN.

The operation was initiated after local residents provided information regarding the possible presence of materials used by illegal armed structures. Military units verified the data and secured the area, allowing specialized personnel to carry out the controlled destruction of the material. The institution stated that the operation aimed to reduce the risk of these devices being used against civilians, public forces, or regional infrastructure.

Colonel Gerardo Vargas, commander of the First Brigade, explained that the explosives appear to be a logistical reserve maintained by the armed group for potential future violent actions in nearby departments. No arrests were reported as a result of the procedure, and there is no information regarding recent use of the seized artifacts.
