Colombian Army escorts coffee convoy through Nariño
On August 27, a convoy of 39 cargo trucks carrying coffee produced in Nariño traveled along the Pasto–Popayán highway under the protection of the Colombian National Army. The operation was designed to ensure the safe passage of the cargo through critical security zones on this strategic agricultural corridor.
The National Federation of Coffee Growers (FNC) coordinated the movement to facilitate the fulfillment of commercial commitments with both national and international buyers. The convoy departed from Pasto at approximately 5:00 a.m. to mitigate risks associated with the current security conditions in certain sectors of the route.
