Colombian Army Kills Three Comuneros del Sur Fighters in Nariño

In a joint operation by the Colombian Army’s 23rd Brigade and the Fiscalía’s Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), security forces engaged armed members of the Comuneros del Sur group in the rural area of Mallama, Nariño. The clash resulted in the deaths of three suspected militants, identified as the group’s leaders known as “alias Lalo” and “alias Carlitos.”

A fourth combatant, a woman affiliated with the organization, was captured wounded, received medical attention on site, and was transferred to a custody facility. Brigadier General Milton César Escobar confirmed the operation, stating the group had opened fire on the arriving forces, prompting a legitimate defensive response.
