Colombian beauty brands surge while L'Oréal reports strong 2026 growth
Colombia’s beauty and personal‑care sector recorded sales of US$3.56 billion in 2025, growing 8.6 % as local brands captured market share from multinational rivals. Entrepreneurs such as Luisa Chimá, founder of D’Luchi, Kaba and MakeUp, have expanded production in Medellín, adopted clean‑energy and water‑treatment processes, and entered European and U.S. markets, with plans to strengthen a presence in Mexico by 2026.
Globally, L'Oréal Groupe posted first‑half‑2026 revenue of €23.77 billion, a comparable‑sales increase of 6.8 %. Growth was driven by strong e‑commerce performance and innovation across divisions, with professional products up 11.6 % and dermatological beauty up 10.6 %. Regional growth was led by SAPMENA‑SSA (+13.8 %), followed by North America (+6.7 %), Europe (+6.1 %), Latin America (+5.2 %) and North Asia (+4.6 %). CEO Nicolas Hieronimus highlighted the company’s robust margin expansion and confidence in continued demand for beauty products.
