Colombian fashion events highlight sustainability and regional talent

Several fashion events are taking place in Colombia, focusing on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and regional identity.

In Ibagué, the ‘Ibagué Fashion Runway’ is being held at the Acqua Shopping Center. The event features local talent alongside international and national brands, including Guatemalan designer Luisa María Elgueta and the brand Desigual. The initiative, supported by the Ibagué Secretary of Economic Development, aims to promote the circular economy and sustainable fashion through a runway show and a dedicated entrepreneurship fair.

Meanwhile, Popayán Fashion Week is being hosted at Parque Caldas from September 24 to 26. Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Cauca, the event showcases designers from the southwest region of Colombia. The collections emphasize cultural memory, ancestral heritage, and sustainable luxury, featuring works that highlight Afro-descendant identity and artisanal textile techniques.
