Violence erupts during Cali and Bucaramanga match
A match between Deportivo Cali and Atlético Bucaramanga at Palmaseca Stadium ended in chaos and violence following a 1-1 draw. The incident involved physical altercations between players, coaching staff, and fans.
Reports indicate that Bucaramanga coach Pablo Peirano acted aggressively toward the referee and engaged in a confrontation with Cali player Keimer Sandoval. This triggered a brawl between members of both teams and led to multiple red cards. Additionally, security was breached as fans attempted to invade the pitch, forcing authorities to intervene and the referee to suspend play temporarily.
The disciplinary commission of DIMAYOR is expected to review recordings and statements to determine sanctions for the clubs, staff, and players involved. The incident has raised significant concerns regarding stadium security and the safety of participants in the Colombian league.
