Colombian Health Superintendency Resumes Audit in Medellín
A court in Medellín ruled that a legal petition filed by the city and mayor Federico Gutiérrez to halt a health audit was inadmissible, allowing the Superintendencia Nacional de Salud to continue its inspection of the municipal health department. Following the decision, auditors returned to the mayor's office to restart the review that had been delayed by the city's legal challenges.
Superintendent Daniel Quintero Calle emphasized that the agency will persist in its oversight duties, stating that “the superintendency will not be stopped by any dilatory strategy” and reaffirming its commitment to transparency, protection of public resources, and the right to health for Colombians.
