Colombian Hospitals Gain Full Funding and International Recognition

Colombia's Ministry of Health, led by Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, announced that the national government will fully finance the Hospital Regional de Alta Complejidad (HRAC) in Pereira, Risaralda, confirming the completion of the fourth‑level hospital project after extensive coordination with oversight bodies.

Separately, the Hospital Universitario Departamental de Nariño was honored in the 2026 HospiRank by Global Health Intelligence in Miami, United States, placing it among the best‑equipped hospitals in Latin America. The award highlighted the hospital's investment in cutting‑edge medical equipment and its improved diagnostic and therapeutic capacities, according to hospital manager Antonio José Vieira del Castillo.
