Colombian National Army Lieutenant Steven Mora has been awarded the Medal of Valor following a landmine explosion during a security mission in the Chocó department. The incident occurred in 2025 when a military group encountered a minefield, reportedly installed by illegal armed groups.
Despite sustaining serious injuries during the detonation, Lieutenant Mora underwent a recovery process and chose to continue his military career. The decoration was presented on August 8 during commemorations for the Battle of Boyacá and National Army Day.
