Colombian man fined for Nazi salute at Auschwitz museum

During a visit to the Auschwitz‑Birkenau museum in Oświęcim, a 34‑year‑old Colombian citizen was caught making a Hitler‑style salute. Museum guards recorded the gesture, secured the phone footage and alerted local police.

Police detained the man, transferred him to the Oświęcim precinct and charged him with propagating Nazi ideology. He admitted guilt, accepted a settlement and was ordered to pay a fine of 2,000 zł. The court will publicly announce the verdict, underscoring the seriousness of hate‑related offenses at historic sites.
