Colombian military seizes fuel and explosives in separate operations

The Colombian National Army has conducted two significant operations against illegal activities in different regions of the country.

In the rural area of Palmor, Ciénaga, troops from the Mountain Battalion seized approximately 1,100 gallons of fuel stored in four isotanks. Authorities identified the material as belonging to the Librado Vergel front of the Autodefensas Conquistadores de la Sierra (ACS) armed group. This operation, supported by the Magdalena Governorate, aimed to disrupt the logistical and financial capabilities of criminal structures in the Sierra Nevada subregion.

In Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, the Army's 29th Brigade intercepted a vehicle transporting roughly 400 kilograms of explosive material, suspected to be high-power C4 plastic explosive. The shipment was reportedly being moved from Mondomo toward Cali, with investigators suggesting the intended targets were public forces or civilians. One individual was captured in flagrante during the inspection on the Pan-American highway.
