Colombian municipalities launch new sports and housing initiatives
Various municipal administrations in Colombia are advancing local infrastructure and social programs. In Duitama, Governor Carlos Amaya and Mayor Rocío Bernal inaugurated a new indoor sports complex in the El Cargua neighborhood. The project, managed jointly by the municipality, the Boyacá Government, and Tierrasua, was expanded from a simple football pitch cover into a comprehensive sports facility with regulation measurements.
In Rionegro, the local government, through the Municipal Institute of Physical Education, Sport and Recreation (Imer) and in partnership with the Pintuco Foundation, completed the renovation of the Las Playas sports court, outdoor gym, and playground. This initiative is part of a larger project involving 14 sports venues with an investment exceeding 1,000 million pesos.
Additionally, the Duitama Mayor's Office has announced a new housing initiative, inviting local families to apply for opportunities to obtain their own homes, though specific requirements and details regarding the program are still forthcoming.
