Colombian municipalities promote tourism and infrastructure

Various Colombian municipalities are highlighting their unique geographic and cultural assets to promote local development and tourism.

In Tangua, Mayor Marino Enrique Timaná is focusing on improving rural connectivity. Through collaborations with the national government, the administration has implemented infrastructure projects, such as the construction of 'placa huella' road segments in veredas like Birmania and La Concepción. These improvements aim to facilitate the transport of agricultural products and boost the local economy. The region is noted for its Andean geography and sites like the Laguna Negra and the Qhapaq Ñan.

In the department of Boyacá, the municipality of Chita is being promoted as a destination for rural tourism. The area features natural landscapes including the Laguna del Pedregal and proximity to the Pisba National Natural Park, which protects high-mountain ecosystems, paramo, and Andean forests. Chita also offers historical and archaeological interest through sites like the Ciudad Perdida de los Lanches.
