Colombian police capture José Antonio Ramos Gómez, top wanted criminal

Colombian authorities captured José Antonio Ramos Gómez, known as “Mil Amores”, during an operation in the municipality of Garzón, Huila. Police found a .38 caliber revolver and five cartridges on him.

He has been linked to the criminal group Los XTZ, which was involved in motorcycle thefts across Caquetá. Prosecutors have charged him with illegal manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, qualified aggravated theft and conspiracy to commit crime. The case is part of an ongoing SIJIN investigation by the Caquetá Police Department that began in 2025. Ramos Gómez has a 15‑year criminal record with 13 judicial entries and will appear before a control judge for further legal proceedings.
