Spanish citizen arrested at Bogotá’s El Dorado airport with 10 kg of cocaine hidden in pilot uniform
Police anti‑narcotics units at Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport stopped a man dressed in a commercial‑pilot uniform after he displayed suspicious behavior while attempting to board a flight to Barcelona. A body‑scanner revealed five to six packages of cocaine, totalling about 10 kg, strapped to his torso and legs. The suspect, identified by local media as a Spanish citizen, was detained, placed under the custody of the Fiscalía General de la Nación and faces charges of drug trafficking, manufacturing and possession. Authorities said the seizure corresponds to roughly 25,000 doses and represents a multi‑million‑peso blow to international drug‑trafficking networks. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics smuggling through Colombia’s main airport.
