Colombian police seize cocaine base and chemical precursor in separate raids
The National Police of Colombia conducted two operations targeting drug trafficking. In Sabanagrande, Atlántico, officers arrested an 18‑year‑old carrying 489 g of cocaine base and a 16‑year‑old for receiving a stolen motorcycle. The seized motorcycle was returned to authorities.
In Taminango, Nariño, police stopped a cargo vehicle and discovered 40 sacks containing 2,000 kg of potassium permanganate, a key chemical used to produce illicit drugs. The driver was captured and the vehicle and a mobile phone were seized. Both suspects were handed over to the Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.
