Colombian Red Cross marks 111 years; Davivienda backs Salvadoran Red Cross

The Colombian Red Cross celebrated its 111th anniversary, highlighting the delivery of more than 14,500 food kits, 7,200 hygiene kits, 1,400 night kits, 272 cooking kits and 636,000 liters of potable water to flood‑affected communities in eight departments, as well as health assistance for 3,256 people and support to 17,500 directly. Over the past year the organization also served 188,000 migrants and host‑community members.

Separately, Davivienda Seguros renewed its partnership with the Salvadoran Red Cross for a ninth year, donating US$10,000 to improve equipment and supplies for responders and to fund the contingency plan for the rainy and dry seasons. The alliance includes two public‑awareness campaigns on road safety during the August holidays and on preparedness for heavy rains and drought, aiming to strengthen a culture of prevention in El Salvador.
