Colombian regional authorities implement security and agricultural initiatives

Various regional authorities in Colombia are implementing initiatives to improve security, public order, and agricultural productivity.

In Barranquilla, the National Police launched a cleaning and beautification campaign in the Barranquillita sector as part of the ‘Mega Zona Segura’ strategy. The initiative aims to strengthen security and improve environmental conditions for residents and merchants through preventive actions and community engagement.

In Tumaco, local authorities are focusing on both commercial organization and rural development. The District Mayor's Office conducted inspections at the El Morro Bridge to organize commercial activities and protect public spaces in this tourist area. Additionally, 60 families in the La Chorrera district received tools and supplies, such as machetes and fertilizers, to strengthen the oil palm production chain.

In Pasto, the Secretariat of Agriculture provided technical assistance and support to rural associations in La Caldera. These efforts focus on enhancing the production of coffee, vegetables, mushrooms, and guinea pigs, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices and organizational growth for local farming communities.
