Colombian regional business and entrepreneurship updates

In Risaralda, the SENA director announced that approximately 3 billion pesos (30 percent of a 34 billion peso national allocation) from the Fondo Emprender will be made available to local entrepreneurs and businesses. This funding aims to assist those affected by the earthquake on August 10 and support the reactivation of small businesses and startups in the department.

In Córdoba, the Montería Chamber of Commerce reported significant growth in its business network, with active companies increasing from approximately 34,814 to over 43,000. The institution also highlighted its Cámara Junior program, which has benefited over 1,050 students, and the Córdoba Exporta strategy, which expanded support from 20 to 179 entrepreneurs to facilitate international market access.

Additionally, the Montería Chamber of Commerce reported that the Sazón Córdoba event generated roughly 780 million pesos in direct sales. On the social front, the entity provided humanitarian aid to 12,650 families affected by climate emergencies and issued economic emergency bonuses to 108 merchants.
