Human rights crises unfold in Mexico and Colombia

In Mexico, families and human rights organizations are escalating their struggle against the country's disappearance crisis. Demonstrators in Mexico City have marched to demand effective investigations as the number of missing persons exceeds 134,000. Additionally, the NGO Elementa DDHH has filed an injunction against the Ministry of the Interior and the National Search Commission, citing the inoperability and lack of updates in the National Registry of Common and Clandestine Graves.

Meanwhile, in Colombia, the Defensoría del Pueblo has issued a strong rejection of anonymous threats targeting National Registrar Hernán Penagos Giraldo and the staff of the Registraduría Nacional. The institution has called on the Attorney General's Office to investigate these intimidations, which aim to delegitimize electoral processes and undermine democratic institutions through digital harassment.
