Colombia police seize major drug shipments and halt illegal activities

Colombian authorities have conducted several operations targeting illegal activities, including narcotics trafficking and environmental crimes.

In Cauca, police intercepted a tractor-trailer on the Yumbo–Tumaco route, seizing 1,000 kilograms of cocaine valued at over 4.6 billion pesos. The drugs were found concealed within 34 tons of cement, and the driver was arrested. In a separate incident in Huila, officers on Route 45 discovered approximately 600 kilograms of cocaine hidden among fish in a food transport vehicle traveling from Putumayo to Bogotá. Additionally, police in Neiva used canine units to find marijuana, cocaine base, and bazuco in a forested area near the Magdalena River.

Environmental enforcement efforts also saw results. In Soacha, three individuals were arrested for ecocide after being caught performing open-air burns for illegal charcoal extraction. In Tolima, the Mobile Carabineros Squadron seized an excavator in Ataco that was being used for illegal mining activities.
