Colombian singer Andrés Cepeda releases 'Big Band 2' album honoring Latin American music

Andrés Cepeda, the Colombian singer‑songwriter, has issued his second big‑band project, **Big Band 2**, a tribute to the breadth of Latin American music. The album traces the genre’s evolution from early 20th‑century U.S. jazz and swing through Caribbean styles in Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia, re‑interpreting classics such as “Sway (Quién Será)”, “Lamento Borincano”, “Colombia Tierra Querida” and “El Año Viejo”.

Recorded live at Bogotá’s Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo after a sold‑out run of twelve concerts, the double‑album features more than 30 musicians and guest contributions from Lila Downs, plus archival vocal tracks of Celia Cruz and Benny Moré. It is available on streaming services and as a limited‑edition vinyl release. The project follows Cepeda’s first big‑band album, which earned a Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Traditional Album in 2019, and is issued on his independent label Andrés Cepeda Música with strategic support from FM Entretenimiento.
