Colombian soldier killed by landmine in Briceño, Antioquia

A Colombian soldier, Jhoan Camilo Sanabria Mendoza, has died after a landmine explosion in the rural district of El Roblal, located in the municipality of Briceño, Antioquia. The National Army confirmed that the explosion occurred while members of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 7 were conducting operations to protect local residents.

Authorities attribute the landmine to the Clan del Golfo, a criminal group active in the region. In addition to the death of Sanabria Mendoza, three other soldiers—identified as Carlos Andrés Ramírez Suazo, Jhan Carlos Romero Gracia, and Miguel Ángel Rojas Díaz—sustained injuries. The injured personnel were evacuated by the Colombian Aerospace Force to Medellín for specialized medical treatment.
