Colombian Women in Crisis: Missing Family in Santa Marta and Influencer's Wife Hospitalized in Mexico

A Venezuelan mother, Anabel Maryori Rodríguez, and her two daughters vanished after traveling from Betulia, Santander, to Santa Marta, Magdalena, on May 12. Their last known contact was in Santa Marta, after which extortion messages demanded 70 million Colombian pesos, claiming the family was being held in the Bonda corregimiento. Relatives suspect a scam, as no proof of the victims' whereabouts has been provided.

Colombian influencer Brandon Hernández’s wife, Mafer Rodríguez, has been in intensive care in Mexico City since giving birth. After a cardiac arrest during delivery, she suffered severe complications, losing her sight and the use of her legs. Hernández has publicly accused the hospital of negligence and delayed medical procedures, while their newborn daughter remains healthy.
