Colombia's Attorney General calls for delay of $900 bn science and innovation funding
The Procuraduría General de la Nación sent a communication to the Órgano Colegiado de Administración y Decisión de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (Ocad Ctel) asking that the body postpone decisions scheduled for 6 August on three funding calls (44, 45 and 50). The calls, financed with about 900 000 million Colombian pesos from the Sistema General de Regalías, aim to support high‑impact regional projects and advanced training.
The Attorney General argued that the proposals require more time for a thorough analysis of their convenience, viability, scope and impact, and that the decisions should be taken with full transparency, deliberation and adequate assessment before final approval.
